Honoring Rose St. Hubert
Throughout our childhood, our beautiful mother - Rose Laurette St.Hubert, always shared memories about her childhood and how she became wife to Rev. Pastor Marc St.Hubert, mom to us (Markelito, Marc-Leroy, Micheal, and Emmanuella), and First Lady of Evangelical Haitian Church of Florida. One memory that was so dear to her was of the moment her life changed forever.
In her story, she always spoke of a dream that she had while working as a Nanny for the Hess family. She found herself at a crossroad in life. While she wanted to further her education, she could not afford to go to college nor could she leave the Nanny position that helped to support herself, mother and siblings. Rose got on her knees and prayed that God would provide an answer. That night, she had a dream that a dress that her mother had sewn for her was dripping with honey. The wall were the dress hung had a hole that was pouring out an endless supply of honey all over this dress.
The next day, she was told that a few missionary families had decided to provide her with a full scholarship for all 4 years of College at one of Haiti's most prestigious Christian Colleges - Emmaus University. During her time at Emmaus, she made life long friends and also met the love of her life, our father - Pastor Marc St.Hubert. After marrying, they went into full-time ministry together and founded churches both in Haiti and in the United States. At the time of her unfortunate death, she served tirelessly as the First Lady of Evangelical Haitian Church of Florida, which she co-founded in 1984.
In thinking of how to honor her legacy, we thought it was best to continue her work in giving to others. There was never a time that she did not find a way to help others in need. Whether it was a warm meal, bed, or money for children in the orphanages, she would happily go without or with less to ensure that others were taken care of. To ensure that more young women continue to receive a chance at an Education at Emmaus, we have established the "Rose St.Hubert Scholarship Fund" in her honor.
In lieu of sending flowers, we ask that you donate to the scholarship fund in her honor. We thank you for your continued prayers through this difficult time.
